Welcomed by the clear blue sky, the sea & the warm greetings from the staffs. Raved highly as one of the most glorious & stylish stay in Bali. We spent our last 2 night here in Alila Villas Uluwatu, taking a break off the buzz in town - relish the beauty of mother nature & tranquility set on a clifftop plateau along the southern coastline of the Bali's Bukit Peninsula.
Opened officially in the late 2009, Alila Villas Uluwatu continue it's strong presence despite many new & tough competitors growing from the same industry. One of it's vital success is in it's world class designed architectural concept which have won them many internationally acclaimed awards.
Seafood by the beach...
Around the District
Vastly different from the area in Seminyak, Uluwatu houses the essence of nature & culture with historic structures, temples, & landscapes. If you're lazy to do up your own itinerary, do hit up the concierge services provided by Alila Villas Uluwatu to plan out your needs.
TBH, the Villa is so huge & cosy with all the necessities & services easily available - we spent most of our time relaxing in the Villa. On one of the evenings, we head out to Jimbaran Beach to enjoy the sunset over a table of BBQ Seafood & drinks. Alila Villas Uluwatu do tie up with a few restaurants in Jimbaran as well to provide transfer to & fro, so getting around is real easy peasy. -
Room & Facilities
Offering up to 3 different types of villa to cater from small to large group - One Bedroom Pool Villa, Two Bedroom Pool Villa, Three Bedroom Pool Villa. The villas each have it's own unique design with a good mix of indoor, outdoor area & facilities within. We stayed in the One bedroom pool villa that is specifically designed with a Eco-friendly & sustainable framework. Contemporary & timeless design that encompasses traditional Balinese elements - Lava stones, lush green, marble, wood, rattan, the outdoor area - with private pool & cabana looking over the Indian Ocean & vast blue sky. Perfect for star gazing at night. Indoor area - bathtub Jacuzzi, king-size bed, chill out sofa area right next to the pool, indoor & outdoor shower facilities.
The best of all? No longer breakfast in bed, we have our breakfast in villa! Too lazy to head out for lunch or dinner? Menu by the restaurants in the Villas are also available for room services. Just give them a call, & the buggy will deliver the food right to your door step.
In need for some exercise? Head down to the beach area - some few hundred flight of steps through a passage down from the Villa, be prepared to sweat it out, but the view is definitely worth it once you're there! After which relax your muscles by giving the Villa's spa a try, it's definitely worth the penny for the world class experience & services!
The Warung & Cire
When in Bali, it is a MUST to try Indonesian food! The Warung explores different parts of Indonesia bringing you the specialty & rendition of each region. Spices, hot, savory & flavorful, this is what you can expect to find from here. Salivating already aren't we? I still remember vividly the appetizer served in a traditional Indonesian board w/ 10 different kinds of dip along with the tapioca chips. It just keeps you wanting more.
While both restaurants offer a panoramic ocean view, Cire serves up breakfast for the guest in the morning, & tantalizing gourmet comfort food for Lunch & Dinner in a casual outdoor setting.
I was lucky enough to have the chance to embark on this 10 course gastronomical experience by Quila. Putting the 5 senses to the test - Quila serves up each plate based on - Taste, Smell, Feel, Hear & See - artfully crafted by Chef Marc Lorés Panadés. Each plate also comes with it's own pairing cocktail/mock-tail. The chef employs the usage of fresh local produce combined with his technique to bring out the best of each dishes based on the 5 senses.
